SoundScience Research

Since 1995 we have created an ongoing experimental research group to further explore and harness the power of music and it’s potential benefits within specific applications.

Having spent years as professional composers for film and television, we are intimately aware of how certain musical languages and textures evoke a 'feeling' within any given audience. This gives us a distinct advantage allowing us - with greater precision - to uncover the secrets of audio stimulation and the power of healing through music.

For example, studies conducted by the late Dr Lee Salk, eminent child and family authority revealed that when exposed to a recorded heartbeat at 72 beats per minute (BPM), newborn babies gained weight at a faster rate than babies who were not exposed to the heartbeat.

In another example, Dr Harvey Karp, a leading media pediatrician based in Los Angeles, suggests that babies are - in effect - born one trimester too soon and deprived of adequate womb experience. His theory is that babies cry because they miss the safety of the womb and are frightened by the new neonatal world.
